Marcé Fire Fighting Technology in South Africa has completed the delivery of five “Rhino 4×4” light foam tenders to the Namibia Airports Company. These Rhino 4×4 models are based on an Italian Fresia F800 series airport crash tender chassis specified with a Deutz diesel engine, Allison automatic transmission and independent suspension.
The aluminium body is of modular construction permitting five spacious lockers per side. Fire engineering includes a Zeigler centrifugal pump rated at 10,000 litres per minute (lpm) @ 10 bar, an electronically controlled roof mounted monitor rated at 8,000 lpm and a bumper turret rated at 3,000 lpm.
Firefighting media consists of 7,000 litres of water, 840 litres of foam plus 250 kg DCP by Perren Engineering Limited. The tenders also incorporate a Marcé rapid starting kit sustaining the engine temperature at an optimum level for an immediate response; plus the Marcé integrated control system permitting seamless pump operation.
