According to local police and fire authority reports, a fire broke out at a household goods manufacturing factory in Eumseong County, South Korea, on January 30, 2026.
The fire started at about 2:55 p.m. inside the production facility.
The factory produces wet wipes, diapers, and other daily products.
Large amounts of paper and pulp materials caused the fire to spread fast and burn intensely.
Fire authorities issued a Level 2 emergency response.
They deployed 105 firefighters, 56 fire units, and four helicopters to control the fire. The flames later spread to a nearby electrical equipment factory and a hillside area. The hillside fire was later contained.
Eighty-one workers evacuated safely.
However, several workers were reported missing.
Authorities are still searching the site and investigating the cause of the fire.
