According to the State Intellectual Property Office of the People's Republic of China, the patent application for coVID-19 vaccine jointly filed by Chen Wei, an academician at the Academy of Military Medicine of the Chinese Academy of Military Sciences, and Kang Chino (349.600, -43.51, -11.07%) has been granted, making it China's first coVID-19 vaccine patent.

The application is entitled "Novel Coronavirus vaccine with human replication defect adenovirus as carrier", which is the adenovirus vector vaccine (AD5-NCOV vaccine) developed by Chen Wei's team before.

According to the patent summary, the invention provides a novel Coronavirus vaccine in the form of a human type 5 replicative defect adenovirus.The vaccine has good immunogenicity in both mouse and guinea pig models and can induce strong cellular and humoral immune responses in a short time.In addition, the vaccine is quick and easy to prepare and can be mass-produced in a short period of time to respond to outbreaks.
