Nine spillway openings in Hangzhou's Xinanjiang Reservoir (qiandao Lake), China's first self-designed and self-built hydroelectric power station, were opened at 9:00 am on July 8 for the first time since the reservoir was built in September 1959.
After the full opening of the nine holes, the downstream water level of the Xin 'anjiang Dam is further raised and the current is more turbulent.
According to thepaper.cn, the flood discharge flow from the sluice gate is 6,600 cubic meters per second, the power generation flow is 1,200 cubic meters per second, and the total outgoing flow is 7,800 cubic meters per second -- half an hour's flow is equivalent to the entire west Lake in Hangzhou (more than 14 million cubic meters).
