On May 27, the 2020 Everest altimeter expedition team reached the summit of the world's highest peak, Mount Qomolangma.They will erect signals on the summit, install GNSS antennas, and survey the summit.Forty-five years ago today, the Chinese first brought a beacon to the summit of mount Everest.

The 2020 Everest elevation survey was officially launched on April 30 and was organized by the ministry of natural resources in conjunction with the ministry of foreign affairs, the general administration of sport of China and the Tibet autonomous region government.This is 15 years after the 8,844.43-meter rock face elevation of the summit of Mount Qomolangma was announced in 2005.The measurement results will provide first-hand data for the study of glacier change and crustal movement
