| Firefighter recovers after being hit by fire truck |

| A rookie firefighter who was hit by a fire truck three months ago is on his way home, according to officials.
Dane Smothers Jr. was critically injured when he was struck by a ladder truck at a fire scene on August 2nd, suffering multiple injuries.
Officials say Smothers has made a “remarkable” recovery and is currently still being rehabilitated.
Smothers had only been on the department for 90 days when he was run down by the massive fire truck.
According to NBCWashington, Smothers comes from a firefighting family.
